The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services into the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering expert services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency explained it can be alarmed with regards to the high number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim of the Integrated Registration read more Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office devoted to service the area on a daily basis. The assistance point designed for intervention ordeals a high influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for the Workplace to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional means to help the servicing of all shoppers and raise entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
